MAC Pearlglide Intense Eye Liner in Black Line

Hi there! So here is a quick post about the eye liner I am currently obsessed with. I was about to meet my friend and she was late so I was just killing my time and swatching some products at the MAC counter. I really wanted to swatch Powersurge Eye Kohl as I don't have any gold eyeliner in my stash. While hunting Powersurge I came across this one eyeliner which just mesmerized me. First of all I thought it's a dark green/black base with dark gold green glitter in it. But then I changed the lighting and it looked dark khaki with subtle gold glitter. As I said earlier I was mesmerized by it. Of course I had to buy it. It was a MAC Pearlglide Intense Eye Liner in Black Line.

Now MAC's pearlglide eyeliners are very soft, pigmented and extremely smooth eye pencils and they are very easy to apply. After applying within few seconds they set and won't smudge and fade away. So if you want smudgy look you have to work fast. MAC describes Black Line as a deep black with golden pearl but it is definitely more than that. I call it mysterious eye liner. It looks really good with green/olive eye shadows. I have been wearing it with MAC's sumptuous olive and the combination looks really good on my brown eyes. You can also smudge it out and create a smokey look only using this.

Over all you can tell I am highly impressed. The only con I think it has is if you wear it with waterproof mascara it is a tedious job to remove it completely. Those golden glitters do stick to eye lashes and eye lids and very hard to remove. The only thing completely removes it is Johnson's Baby Oil Gel. I always use it to remove extra stubborn eye make-up. And if you smudge it a lot glitter do transfer to your under eyes/cheeks. I would suggest to powder your face after doing your eyes.

So that was my not so quick post about MAC's Black Line. I highly recommend you to go to the MAC counter and give it a try. It is definitely something more interesting than your simple old black liner :)

Hair Care - Leave In Conditioners

Hi there! Today I am going talk about hair care and mostly hair care means some leave-in conditioners. I have long hair and it is hard to maintain them. Thanks to these products I hardly have any damaged hair and almost no split ends. Before talking about products let me mention that I hardly use any heat on my hair. It's a big no no for me. I usually let my hair towel/air dry and that helps a big time. I don't have a hair dryer. The point is 'if you don't have it you won't use it' :) I do use flat iron sometimes but only on special occasions. Also, I am not loyal to any particular shampoo. My only expectations from any shampoo is it should be moisturizing and should cleanse my hair properly. I don't expect miracles from shampoo. I also don't use regular conditioner every time I wash my hair. My hair are quite heavy and from my past experience conditioner weigh my hair down but I use deep conditioning treatments once a week. So without further due lets start with some leave in conditioners I love.

Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment. This my HG product. It's hard to imagine life without this. I love everything about this oil. It's non sticky. It doesn't weigh my hair down. If you don't like strong smells you might dislike it. I personally love the smell of it. I just put a quarter (coin) size amount on my almost dried hair and it makes combing my hair a cake walk :) It's great to reduce any frizz. I generally use only this product and if my hair feel still dry I will use other products I am going to mention below. Some suggests you can even add this oil to your hair color to get an extra vibrant color. I have never tried that but I love it as my daily leave in conditioner. Highly recommended! You get it in bigger bottle too. I personally prefer small one just because it is easier to travel with it. This oil is very comparable to Moroccan Oil Treatment but I find this more conditioning than moroccan oil.

One more hair treatment that works wonder is the Redken Extreme Anti-Snap. I use it whenever my hair feel extra dry and I use it on the ends of my hair and problem is solved. If you have gone under any chemical hair treatment in salon like hair rebonding or straightening then I highly recommend this product. It helps to minimize any damage these treatment make to your hair. It has fruity smell. It dries quickly, smooths the cuticle and most importantly doesn't weight the hair down. Hair look really healthy and shiny after few uses of this product.

It has one more random advantage. After I apply this to lengths of my hair I wipe the remaining product or residue over each nail. I have noticed my nails got noticeably stronger after few days. Yayy Bonus! :)

This is fairly new product in my stash but it was love at first use. It's a 10 leave in conditioner promises to :

1. Repair dry, damaged hair

2. Add shine

3. Detangle

4. Control frizz

5. Seal & protect hair colour

6. Prevent split ends

7.Stop hair breakag

8.Create silkiness

9. Enhance natural body

10.Take the place of your regular heat protectant

Well lots of promises for one product but trust me these are not empty promises. It does work wonders on extra dry hair. If you have thick, knotty, color treated, dry and frizzy, or simply unruly hair, this product is for you. I personally don't like the smell. It has 'chemicalish'  smell which you get used to after a while. But apart from that this is a wonderful product. It is little costly and availability apart from USA is an issue but if you ever get a chance to buy this product, grab it!!

These were some of my tried and tested products and  I swear by them. Finally here is a pic mine.

Haul, Review and Swatches from Summertime de Chanel Summer 2012 Make-Up Collection

Hi everyone!! I am excited to share some recent purchases from Chanel. To start with I knew what I wanted when I first saw Chanel's summer 2012 collection. Lately I have been obsessed with corals. Be it clothes or make-up. Coral, orange, tangerine things tend to attract me. So these two beauties are no exception! :)

Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer # 337 Calypso

What can I tell about this tropical beauty.. I am in love with this! This is an absolutely gorgeous orange/coral hued gloss.  I generally don't like lip glosses. I can't handle the stickiness though I love the look they give to your lips. But I really like the formula of this one. It's neither thick, overly slippery or too tacky. It's not that pigmented as it looks in the tube but it leaves nice veil of color when applied. It has tiniest glistening shimmer in gold, orange and pink. I think this will suit all skin tones. It stays for around 3 hours on my lips and it won't settle into any lines like I have observed with many other glosses. When it fades it leaves the faintest touch of delicate sparkles behind. Calypso is also very moisturising and nourishing. Overall I am loving this gloss in conjunction with Rouge Coco Shine # 447 En Vogue, another lip product from Chanel Summer 2012 collection.Though also light, En Vogue will help to make Calypso a bit deeper and wear more flawlessly. Too bad Calypso is a limited edition product.

Rouge Coco Shine # 447 En Vogue

I love Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks. The most moisturising and nourishing lipsticks I have ever used so far. Though pigmentation is the issue I still love them for their glossy finish and moisturising quality. These are the perfect combination of lipstick, lip gloss and lip stain and I warn you they are pretty addictive! At first glance En Vogue looks like a brighter,warmer orange but after applying it looks more like a neutral pinkish coral. I absolutely love how it applies. The overall feel and lightness of it makes lips look fuller, glossy and nourished. I have been reaching for this every single day since I got it. It stays on my lips for about three casual hours, two if I am just sipping a tea or coffee. However, it usually won't make it through a meal. It leaves a beautiful matte stain when it fades away. Again, I think it's a shade that should flatter most skin tones. Like Calypso it is a limited edition product too.

Overall only negative about Calypso and En vogue is the price and wear time. If I have to choose only one between these two I ll choose Calypso as it is more pigmented than En Vogue. Otherwise I absolutely recommend these if you are looking for  summer perfect, not too bold wearable  corals! 

Fashion Trend - Ethnic

I have always been a fan of Indian Ethnic wear. I love sarees and lehngaas on women and jodhpuris and sherwanis on men. I like to watch the detailed work on these clothing pieces as it always depicts the brilliant combination of imagination, creativity and art work. You look well and feel so royal and elegant in these cloths. They are being part of our lives for so long and in so many special occasions that we connect with them emotionally. I bet your Mum still has her wedding saree stored carefully in her closet and I bet that it must be beautiful too! :)

  

Though we love our heavy, designer Indian ethnic clothes it’s not practical to wear them every day, they are special and made for special occasions, right? But wait! How come we forget our beloved kurtis, tops and long skirts? I remember when I was in college my go to combination was my favorite kurtis with jeans, some jewelry (preferably ethnic) and stoles and I was good to go. So casual yet fashionable. I do love the heavy use of cotton in these cloths, perfect for Indian weather. 

Ethnic jewelry and accessories can completely transform any look. They are so elegant. You can go for very simple jewelry to heavy ‘Jadau’ ethnic jewelry and you are guaranteed to look good. Accessories like dupattas, shawls and stoles can instantly work like magic for your simple outfits and add pop of color to them. For handbags you have variety of options ranging from clutches to sling tote bags. We find ethnic influence on our home accessories too. Seriously!  What else you need? 

I so love ethnic/tribal fashion that it’s never enough for me. My favorite shopping destination for ethnic fashion in India is Fabindia. I shop like crazy when I enter that store. I also like Colaba Causeway for some fun shopping (As Mumbai is my hometown). So if you haven’t been there or you are a tourist in India please check out Fabindia and Colaba causeway if you visit Mumbai :)

We all know that ethnic fashion has heavy influence on Indian fashion industry since long. But it is making its impact on western world too. In fact, for spring/summer 2012 tribal/ethnic fashion is very ‘in trend’. It’s all about patterns this season. We can already see Bohemian print being quite popular. So it’s sure that we are going to see a lot of prints and weaves this spring/summer.

I personally like both Eastern and Western trends and when East meets West, I could not be happier!! :)
